Most cooking-appliance faults come down to one part — a bake element, a gas igniter, a temperature sensor or a control board. Here is what each symptom usually means and what we check first.

Oven Heats, But Not to the Right Temperature
Food burning on top, raw underneath, or everything taking half again as long. Usually the temperature sensor has drifted or the element is only partly working. We measure the actual cavity temperature rather than trusting the display.
Electric Burners Not Heating Evenly
On coil cooktops it is the element or its receptacle; on radiant glass tops it is the element or the infinite switch that controls it. On induction it is more often the control board or a cooling fan.
Oven Door Locked After Self-Clean
The self-clean cycle runs the cavity hot enough to take out thermal fuses and door-lock motors, and it is a leading cause of oven failure. If the door is locked and the oven is dead after a clean cycle, that is what we look at first.
Glass Cooktop Cracked or Scratched
A cracked glass cooktop isn't safe to use, but you don't need a new stove. We replace the glass top, and the rest of your range stays as it is.
Gas Burners Won't Light or Keep Clicking
A burner that clicks without lighting points to a spark module, a cracked igniter or a blocked burner port. Clicking that never stops usually means moisture or a failed switch.
Oven Door Won't Close or Seal
Bent hinges or a worn door gasket. This is also the quiet cause of "my oven takes forever" complaints — heat leaving faster than the element can replace it.
Control Panel Dead, Frozen or Showing an Error
Touch panels, membrane switches and control boards. Read us the error code when you call — it usually tells us which part to bring.
Oven Not Heating At All
On an electric oven this is usually the bake element or the thermal fuse; on a gas oven it is almost always the igniter, which weakens gradually before it fails outright. Both are common parts and both are same-visit repairs when we have them on the van.
Convection Fan Noisy or Not Running
A convection oven that has stopped circulating cooks like a worse conventional one. Usually the fan motor or its relay.
Smell of Gas
Shut the appliance off, do not use it, and call the gas utility first — then call us. We repair gas ranges and connect to existing gas lines; we do not run new gas lines.

Oven and range repairs run $189–399 and cooktop repairs $189–349, depending on the part and the fault. The inspection fee is $89 for home appliances and it is credited toward the repair if you go ahead — so if we fix it, the diagnosis costs you nothing extra.

Yes — gas ranges, electric ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and induction. We connect to existing gas and electrical hookups; new gas lines and new circuits are outside what we take on.

For most faults, yes. An igniter, an element or a sensor is a fraction of the cost of a new range, and built-in wall ovens are worth repairing well past the point a freestanding unit would be, because replacing one means cabinetry work.
