Most washer faults come down to a single part — a drain pump, a belt, a door lock or a bearing. Here is what each symptom usually means and what we check first.
Washer Problems We Fix

Not Spinning or Agitating
Clothes come out soaking wet. On belt-driven machines it is usually the belt or the motor coupler; on direct-drive it is the motor, the lid lock switch or the control board. A washer that fills and drains but will not spin is almost always one cheap part.
Loud Noises During the Wash
Grinding, rumbling or a metallic scrape. Usually drum bearings, the tub bearing, or something small that has worked its way past the drum — coins, underwire, a screw.
Washer Won't Start or Power On
No lights, no response, or a click with nothing following. The lid lock or door interlock, the start switch, the thermal fuse, or the control board. On front-loaders the door interlock is the most common of these by a wide margin.
Door Locked Shut Mid-Cycle
Front-loader stopped with water inside and the door will not open. The interlock, the drain pump, or a control fault holding the lock. This is the call we get in a hurry, and it is a repair rather than a replacement almost every time.
Water Leaks and Moisture Issues
Leaks from the front door, from underneath, or from behind the machine. Door seals, inlet and drain hoses, the pump housing and the tub seal all fail differently, and where the water appears tells us which one. We locate the source rather than replacing parts in order.
Shakes or Walks Across the Floor
A washer that shakes or walks across the floor is usually worn suspension rods or shock absorbers. We replace them and your washer runs quiet and steady again.
Won't Fill or Fills Too Slowly
Inlet valves, a blocked inlet screen, or a pressure switch that thinks the tub is already full. Slow filling on the hot side only usually points somewhere else entirely.
Washer Not Draining Properly
If water stays in the drum or the cycle stops mid-wash, it is the drain pump, a blocked filter, a kinked or clogged hose, or the pressure switch reading the level wrong. We inspect the whole drainage path rather than swapping the pump and hoping.
Smells or Mold in a Front-Loader
Front-loaders trap water in the door boot and the detergent drawer. Left alone it becomes a smell that transfers to clothes. The seal, the drain path and the drawer housing all need attention, and a badly perished boot has to be replaced.
Error Codes and Sensor Failures
An error code is the most useful thing you can hand us. On most brands it points straight at the failed component, so reading it out when you book often means we know what to bring.

Top-Load Agitator
The traditional design with a center post. Agitator dogs, drive belts, motor couplers and lid switches. Mechanically simple and cheap to keep running.
Top-Load Impeller (High Efficiency)
No center post, a low-water wash and a different failure pattern — mostly shifters, sensors and balance faults rather than belts.
Front-Load Washers
Door boots, bearings, shock absorbers and door interlocks. Front-loaders fail in ways top-loaders do not, and they are the machines most often written off when they did not need to be.
Stacked Washer and Dryer Units
Washer and dryer sharing one cabinet and often one control panel, which makes both the diagnosis and the access harder. Common in Spokane apartments, condos and rentals.
